Kenneth Kunz, a respected and experienced leader in the plant nutrient industry, has domestic and international experience in sales, product launch and management, domestic and global marketing and business development. His focused career of over 43 years in the fertilizer industry began at W.R. Grace & Company. Mr. Kunz quickly advanced his career into a sales management position at Brayton Chemicals. In 1983, he took a position with Honeywell, a global producer of ammonium sulfate, which is known today as AdvanSix. Mr. Kunz’s knowledge and expertise in the fertilizer industry allowed him to advance up the chain quickly, holding management positions in sales, marketing and product management until he retired in 2022 as the Domestic Sales and Global Market Manager for AdvanSix. At AdvanSix, he worked with a team to drive value to the world’s largest single plant producer of ammonium sulfate. Currently, this plant nutrient division delivers approximately one fourth of the $1.7 billion in annual revenue for the company. In his various positions throughout his career, he was responsible for launching new products, creating marketing and business development strategies, and developing strong customer relationships to drive sales.
In addition to his career in the ammonium sulfate business he has served on multiple industry boards including the Foundation of Agronomic Research and the International Fertilizer Association. He has also served as chairman for the North Carolina Plant Food Association, The Fertilizer Institute Economics Committee and The Fertilizer Industry Round Table. Mr. Kunz has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ag Science from Western Illinois University and continued his graduate studies in Soil Chemistry at the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Kunz also holds a Six Sigma Greenbelt and Design for Six Sigma certification.
