Summer…time to relax and enjoy the outdoors. It’s also a great time to give your lawn the TLC it needs. You can keep your summer lawn looking healthy by following these simple tips!

Mow – Continue to mow your lawn, cutting at about 1/3 of the height of the leaf blade. Leave clippings on the lawn as well, for an additional nutrient source. Keep your cool season grass around 2 1/2 – 3 inches tall and warm season grass about 1 to 2 inches tall.

Fertilize – Fertilize your lawn with an application of GreenEdge Slow Release Fertilizer. Make sure you are not expecting any heavy rain for the next 24-36 hours.

Water – Water infrequently during the summer, but during the early morning time when you do. About one inch of water per week will do for turf.

Weed – Pull weeds by hand to ensure removal of the root with the plant. Keeping your grass at a higher height can help to prevent weed seeds from germinating.

Hard work pays off. Keeping up with your lawn ensures a healthy plant and a happier you!
